Work through this special type of grief with others who are also suffering this unique loss. When our pet goes missing, it is an especially hard loss because we never get closure. We're always left wondering what happened, where they could be, and how long do we keep looking and putting ourselves through this grief?
These groups are different from our other PetCloud support groups because we meet to talk specifically about what to do to help find our lost pets, how to cope with the grief and uncertainty, and to support one another as we all are searching for lost family members.
Every Wednesday, from 3:15pm - 4:00pm Pacific, we'll meet to talk about:

  • How we're doing.
  • What's changed since last week.
  • What we're doing to search.
  • Talk about ways to control our anxiety and take care of ourselves.
  • Learn about grief and ways to express this grief without giving up hope.
In deep grief, especially this unique grief, there is seldom better comfort than the companionship of others who understand loss and sadness. It is such a comfort and blessing to know that we don’t have to grieve alone.

It's never easy to have to watch someone we love age and suffer. For many of us, we're faced with the hardest decision we'll ever have to make...and we have to make it for someone who can't tell us how they feel or what they want.

You should have already received an intro email about our Sunday support groups. We meet twice every Sunday to share our stories, listen to the experiences of others, and to not go through grief alone. You're always welcome in the Sunday groups.

However, we have a special Anticipatory Bereavement Support Group just for those going through these end-of-life issues. In our weekly group we talk about:

  • Quality-of-Life Metrics

  • Checkin on how our pets are doing,

  • Making sure we have a plan in place,

  • How we've been taking care of ourselves, &

  • How we've been spending the time we have with those we love.

Basic introduction course to grief. Learn about grief, why it hurts the way it does, why our friends and family react the way that they do, and a bit about how to healthily take care of ourselves throughout our grieving process.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: Grief Is Normal & Natural

  • Week 2: Myths About Grief

  • Week 3: Grief Triggers and STERBS

  • Week 4: Basic Needs 101

Continuing along in the grief process, our first activity is the Loss History Graph. This is an account of all the loss we've experienced throughout our lives together. While this seems daunting, we introduce and talk about this activity in a different way designed to reduce any stress or anxiety about bringing up old grief and trauma from our past. The entire point of this activity is to learn how we've managed grief our whole lives, what people have said to us and when, how (historically) we've taken care of ourselves throughout this process, and what grief we may still carry with us.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: Loss History Graph Introduction and Demo

  • Week 2: We Present Our Loss History Graphs Together

  • Week 3: Member Checkin: How is our grief sitting now? How are we feeling? What has changed in this past week? What came up during the week that we didn't expect?

Continuing along in the grief process, our second activity is the Relationship Graph. This is very similar to the Loss History Graph, but focused solely on our relationship specifically with our pet(s). During our time together, our babies were celebrating with us during the best days and times, and comforting us during the worst days and periods. They gave so much to us and witnessed so much of our lives. Let's acknowledge and honor that with this activity together.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: Relationship Graph Introduction and Demo

  • Week 2: We Present Our Relationship Graphs Together

  • Week 3: Member Checkin: What changed while doing this activity? Did any new memories surface? How did your body react to this activity this week? What came up during the week that we didn't expect?

The "Last" step along in the grief process is the Completion Letter. This is a highly emotional activity and it takes some time to do it in the way that's designed to let go of this pain. That's the ultimate goal of this activity (and this grief work we've been doing in general) is to let go of this pain and suffering we've been carrying with us all this time. We acknowledge the pain, our relationship, honor what we've been through, apologize for what we could have done better, different, or more, and together, we say goodbye to the pain we're holding so we can be free.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: Completion Letter Introduction and Demo

  • Week 2: Completion Letter Work and questions

  • Week 3: We Present Our Completion Letters Together

  • Week 4: Member Checkin: How are you? How has your energy been this week? What has shifted in your grief? We checkin, share, and talk about next steps.

* The Guilt 401 Course also has a Completion Letter component. It's slightly different than the Grief 401 version, specifically in the Forgiveness and Apology sections.

The "Last Last" step along in the grief process is the Completion Letter. Sometimes, after some time has passed since we've done the Completion Letter activity, we discover there is still some baggage we're holding onto. That's what the PS Letter is all about. Is basically the same as the Completion Letter, but we're only including the "extra" baggage we've been carrying.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: PS Letter Introduction and Demo

  • Week 2: We PS Letters Together

  • Week 3: Member Checkin: What has shifted in your grief this week?

This is the first part of our Guilt & Anger course wherein we'll learn the basics of guilt (anger, blame, shame, etc.), we'll talk about what guilt is, how our minds and thoughts works, how to break out of thought loops, and we'll top it off by discussing forgiveness and self-compassion, what they are, and, more importantly, how to actually go about the business of forgiving ourselves (and/or others) and letting go of this anger and guilt we're carrying.

  • Week 1: Introduction to Guilt and Anger, how to manage it, and how we talk to ourselves. Reflections On Guilt Activity

  • Week 2: Thought Work, Card Activity, Traumatic/Last Images/Moments Work

  • Week 3: Forgiveness

  • Week 4: Guilt Checkin: How is our guilt sitting now? How are we feeling? What has changed in this past week? What came up during the week that we didn't expect?

(Guilt 101, 201 Pre-Requisites or Instructor Approval Required)

This is a continuation of the Guilt & Anger work with a specific focus on traumatic last images, moments, PTSD, painful memories, and other elements of our parting that we're still holding onto. We'll talk about what why these events are different, why they stick around more than others, why it's harder for us than others to go through this grief and guilt, and we make our own Healing-Roadmaps with where we are on our personal journey and where we'd like to go. Then we do it together. This course is designed to be taken multiple times.

  • Week 1 - Trauma and PTSD 101

  • Week 2 - Painful Memories, Why They Hurt Different

  • Week 3 - Healing-Roadmap Checkin - Where are we and were are we going?

  • Week 2: Needs Inventory Activity

  • Week 3: Wheel Of Needs Activity

Many people struggle maintaining and obtaining new friends as adults. We're not taught not to acquire new friends growing up. In fact, look at the friends you have now. Where did you meet? Odds are, you have never chosen your friends; it's a mix of circumstances and environments. As adults, we don't have those limitations. Let's learn how to attract, develop, and retain great inner-circle friendships.

During the course, we'll be examining the relationships we've had throughout our lives, great friendships, and friendships that ended with bridges burned. We'll have activities and homework designed to get us thinking about the what we really want out of our good friendships, approach anxiety, and to get us out of the house and meeting people.

This course is designed to be repeated multiple times.

Basic Outline:

  • Week 1: Friendship 101 - What are friends? Who are our friends? What do we want?

  • Week 2: Where to discover yourself and build your friend network.

  • Week 3: How to support/train your friends, family, and others in your life about grief.

  • Week 4: Building Your Inner Circle

We meet weekly for 4-weeks for an hour in a group with others to learn about friendship. Why is it so hard to make friends as adults? How do we build our friend circles? What does it mean to be a good friend?
